Differences between Event Planner & Event Coordinator

Many people outside of the events industry tend to use the terms event planner and event coordinator to mean the same thing. However, the two terminologies carry entirely different meanings. In hindsight, an event planner is responsible for critical decisions with respect to the who, what, where, why and how in the event, while the event coordinator is answerable for ensuring all the event details are executed on time and appropriately.
