2026 Wedding Trends

It is common knowledge that wedding trends have changed over the years, and as we prepare for 2026, we will look at what experts are predicting for wedding trends in the new year.

According to the Editors at The Knot,  couples want the food part of their wedding to feel like a journey so they are moving away from plated meals to progressive lounge-style dining.  Also, The Knot predicts that some couples will move away from the grandeur and opt for more private aspects of their wedding, editorial-style photography and one year early anniversary celebrations. Furthermore, The Knot expects couples to ditch seated dinners for chic cocktail-style parties, live entertainment, lounge vignettes, and roaming food presentations. As well, couples are expected to include more social media moments, throwback guest experiences, string quartets for beautiful music, Paloma palettes like vibrant pinks, red and oranges, and extravagant draping. To strengthen its position, the Knot says they observe industry shifts, are informed about the data, follow their instincts when they see patterns, and keep their pulse on new wedding trends.

Another wedding company, THE WED, also gave their wedding predictions for 2026.  Author Kayla Mc Fadden forecasts that event designs will see warm brass and romantic gold and more themed weddings.  Also, Mc Fadden expects that chocolate brown and burgundy will remain strong; however, cobalt blue will emerge. She also expects tropical and landscape weddings, bold colours, floral designs with character, twisted florals, lotus florals, unique stationery invitations, monogrammed foods and sculpted cakes.

In essence, from our experiences in Trinidad and Tobago, we must agree with these findings.  Weddings are definitely changing in many dimensions.
